She has turned down lucrative offers for reality TV shows because she wants to be taken seriously as a performer.

Vicky has been having singing lessons for her role in Les Miserables saying "I went to see the production team in April saw a piano and instantly went into a panic because I've never done any training to be a singer. I'm very much out of my comfort zone but that's why I want to do it. When I was offered it I went, 'Yes!' This is not something you'd get handed because you've been in a soap opera. I had to go and see them five or six times and show I'd improved each time."

Blood Brothers Final Curtain

Having been at the opening night of the revival of  Blood Brothers in the West End  in 1998 when Kiki Dee was Mrs Johnstone, Warwick Evans was narrating and Con O'Neill was Mickey, it seemed only fitting that I was there at the last night.

I've lost count of the number of times I have seen the show over the years with all the different casts, but have to say every time Willy Russell's haunting lyrics have caused me to shed a tear.

So I was feeling very emotional last night but held it together until it came to the final curtain when after the cast had taken their bows and a large screen was flown in. One by one pictures appeared of cast members who have performed  at the Phoenix, until the end when the final three artists: the late Robert Locke, Carl Wayne and Stephanie Lawrence appeared.

But was the rendition of  the final verse of Tell Me It's Not True being sung  a capella  with the house lights up that finished me off ...

Cast Breakdown for The Book of Mormon

The West End cast of the hit Broadway musical The Book Of Mormon will feature American actors in the two key roles with Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner playing Elder Price and Elder Cunningham. They are currently leading the company in the Los Angeles production.  The show opens in the West End at the Prince of Wales Theatre on  25th February 2013.

American actors have been cast because the producers insisted on having the "real thing". Sonia Friedman said about the straitlaced Elder Price (Mitt Romney)  type character;  "He’s that sort of square-jawed Mormon, and you can’t create that all-American look. It became clear early on during the audition process in London that we needed the real thing"

Gavin Creel was last in the West End as Claude in Hair at the Gielgud Theatre and as Bert in Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre. He received Tony Award® nominations for his roles in the Broadway productions of Hair and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Jared Gertner will be making his West End debut.  He was a member of the original Tony Award-winning Broadway company.

Other cast members include: : Stephen Ashfield/Elder McKinley/Moroni: Daniel Buckley/Stand by Elder Cunningham: Chris Jarman/General: Alexia Khadime/Nabulungi: Haydn Oakley/Prices's Dad & Others and Giles Terera/Mafala Hatimbi.
