Olivier Award Nominations for Musical Theatre

The following shortlist for musical theatre shows has just been announced for this year's Olivier Awards:

Best New Musical: Loserville, Soul Sister, The Bodyguard and Top Hat.  

Best Musical Revival: A Chorus Line, Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate and Sweeney Todd

Best Supporting Actor in a Musical: Adam Garcia, Kiss Me Kate:  Debbie Kurup The Bodyguard:  Leigh Zimmerman A Chorus Line and  Sian Phillips Cabaret

Best Actor in a Musical:  Michael Ball,  Sweeney Todd,  Alex Bourne Kiss Me Kate,  Tom Chambers Top Hat and Will Young Cabaret

Best Actress in a Musical:  Heather Headley The Bodyguard: Imelda Staunton, Sweeney Todd: Summer Strallen, Top Hat and  Hannah Waddingham Kiss Me Kate

BBC R2 Audience Award Billy Elliott, Matilda, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked!

The awards will be presented at the Royal Opera House on 28th April.
