Miranda Hart, Ball & Boe, casts from 42nd Street and Big Fish plus the Leading Ladies part of line up for this year's Royal Variety Show

Miranda Hart is to host the 2017 Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium on 24th November. She will be the first-ever solo female presenter. She  said today: If you don't mind me, I am just going to smash a glass ceiling and be the first woman to host the Royal Variety. That felt good. It's thrilling for me because of that, and because I am hugely proud to be part of such an important event in our comedy and variety heritage as the Royal Variety Performance. The young-wannabe- comedian me who watched the show every year, would be just as excited to hear that grown-up me is going to be hosting - only I'll be doing it without the 1970s pudding bowl haircut that made me look like a young male monk!
On the pop music front,  Miranda will be introducing The Killers, Louis Tomlinson, James Blunt, The Script, Paloma Faith and  Seal.
The West End will be represented with performances featuring Kelsey Grammer and the cast of Big Fish, casts from Annie and 42nd Street as well as The Leading Ladies - a  trio of West End divas Amber Riley, Beverley Knight and Cassidy Janson.
SThe show also features  Alfie Boe and Michael Ball , Cirque du Soleil and Circus Abyssinia. On the comedy front is Jason Manford and Tom Allen with Britain's Got Talent Tokio Myers, who earned the right to perform in front of the royals when he won  ITV's reality competition.

The 2017 Royal Variety Performance is due to  air on ITV on 15th December.
