Ray Quinn doing some Dirty Dancing

Ray Quinn is about to join the cast of Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre on 26th July to play the part of Billy (the one who helps Baby and Johnny rehearse one of their famous dance steps).

He is contracted until  27th Nov 2010 when he leaves to start rehearsals for panto.  This year he is playing Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton.

Quinn appeared in the London production of Grease last year, but is probably best known for being the runner-up in The X Factor and the winner of Dancing On Ice.

I thought he was great in Grease too. And he was miles ahead the rest of the competitors when he appeared in Dancing on Ice.

I know he has had a lot of dance training and won loads of awards including Disco Junior British Champion, Ballroom British and European Junior Champion and Latin Junior World and British Champion when he was younger so this has certainly helped!

He is truely awesome in everything he does. He always puts his heart and soul into his role. He has become a westend star and he deserves it. Can't wait to go and see him in Dirty Dancing. He might only be playing Billy this year but look at Grease . He started of as Doddy and ended up playing Danny.

Really looking forward to seeing Ray in the show. He was brilliant in Grease last year, and this role should really suit him. He is such a good dancer actor and singer. Good luck to all the new cast members.

Ray is just awesome to watch. He did a great job in Grease playing Doody and got rewarded by then playing Danny. He always puts his heart and soul into everything thing he does. He may only be playing Billy now but hopefully he will play Johnny as he would fit the part brilliantly especially with all his dance training. So looking forward to seeing Dirty Dancing soon.

Really looking forward to seeing Ray in the show. It is a great role for him and I wonder if those who are saying he is "only" Billy realise what a good lead role it is? They seem to be undermining his achievement in being offered this role. It is ideally suited to someone who can sing, dance and act. He was excellent in Grease and I am sure he will be equally good in Dirty Dancing.

For those who are not too familiar with Ray, you are in for an amazing experience, For a relatively young man ray is a very talented actor, dancer, singer and now also a wonderful ice skater he gives 110 per cent in all that he does and as someone once said ray has the "it" factor. This role is a wonderful opportunity once again for ray to show off his talents but look out Johnny!!

Have received an amazing number of positive comments about Ray going into Dirty Dancing. He's a lucky guy to have such a great bunch of fans, but he deserves it because he really gives 110% in all he does.
