Legally Blonde wins West End Eurovision

The fourth  West End Eurovision contest was held last night at the Piccadilly Theatre in aid of TheatreMAD (Theatre: Make a Difference), which supports those living with HIV, AIDS and other long-term conditions.

The winners this year were members of the cast from the Musical Legally Blonde which is currently playing at the Savoy Theatre. In second place were The 39 Steps.

The event was hosted by Gabby Roslin and casts from a number of  West End musicals took part including Avenue Q, Billy Elliot, Dirty Dancing, Dreamboats & Petticoats, Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, Love Never Dies, The Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You, Wicked and Mamma Mia!

Previous West End Eurovision Champions include Wicked (2008), Mamma Mia! (2009) and last year Dirty  Dancing won performing "Shake It" by Sakis Rouvas (Greece's 2004 Eurovision entry).

Judges this year were Sheridan Smith, Keith Lemon and Graham Norton and this year's competition included a special guest performance by 1981 Eurovision Song Contest winners Bucks Fizz.
