Alfie Boe, Matt Lucas, Sheila Hancock and Kerry Ellis on R2 this Friday

Friday Night is Music Night is launching the Classics Season in a special concert celebrating the music of Desert Island Discs at the Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars.

Kirsty Young is presenting the programme with former castaways including Sheila Hancock, Paul Gambaccini and Jo Brand and special performances from Alfie Boe, Matt Lucas, Kerry Ellis, Ronnie Corbett, Julian Lloyd Webber, Courtney Pine, and  Maureen Lipman  with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Roderick Dunk.

Tickets for the concert have sold out but you can hear it live on BBC Radio 2 on Friday 27th May at 8:00
