Apparently Simon Cowell has been in contact with award-winning TV comedian Harry Hill and top music producer Steve Brown to put together a humorous script for a musical version of the X Factor.
A source close to the meetings said: “Simon is excited by the idea of taking The X Factor brand on to the London stage. He is looking at great new songs and some laughter. It would be a perfect night out for X Factor fans and former stars of the show could be involved in it. Steve Brown is already coming up with ideas for music."
Brown is helping last year’s X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson on her debut album. He produced Rumer's platinum-selling album Seasons of My Soul and composed many of the songs for 1980s satire Spitting Image as well as comedy numbers for TV duo Ant and Dec. His 1999 musical Spend, Spend, Spend was staged at the West End's Piccadilly Theatre starring Barbara Dickson.
Harry Hill has been approached to sharpen up the script and guarantee laughs
