Ray Quinn banned from driving for 28 days

Ray Quinn has been banned from driving for 28 days and fined £1,600 after he was caught doing 110mph in his Audi TT on the M6 Toll Road near to Cannock, Staffs.

Ray is the current Dancing On Ice champion, an X Factor runner-up and is playing the role of Danny Zuko in Grease in London’s West End until 28th  November when he leaves to start rehearsals for  the Sleeping Beauty pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome which opens on 19th December.

Quinn pleaded guilty to the motoring offence and explained  he knew he was going too fast but was driving from London to Liverpool to attend a free children's acting workshop and didn’t want to be late.  He told the officer who stopped him "I apologise. I'm sorry it was very stupid of me".

Quinn pulled out of Wednesday and Thursday nights' performances of Grease citing illness on his official website. After the court case he refused to comment on the ban but confirmed: “I am ill, I have a throat infection, but intend to be back performing in Grease on Friday night.”
