Avenue Q, which is currently playing at the Gielgud Theatre, will move into its third West End home this spring.
It will finish its run at the Gielgud on 13th March (to make way for the opening of the Broadway production of Hair) and reopen at Wyndham’s Theatre on 19th March where it is booking until the end of September.
The musical, described as the West End version of Sesame Street, had its London premiere in June 2006 at the Noel Coward theatre and moved to the Gielgud in June 2009.
With the move there will also be some cast changes: Paul Spicer (Notes from New York, Taboo) takes over from Daniel Boys as Princeton/Rod, Jacqueline Tate takes over as Christmas Eve and Delroy Atkinson returns to the role of Gary.
Avenue Q combines a cast of humans and puppets covering topics including dating, racism, internet porn, being gay and finding your purpose in life.
