Hairspray To Finish West End Run on 28th March

The West End production of Hairspray has posted its closing notices for 28th March -  just two days before it launches its first UK regional tour.

Following a number of booking period extensions it had been booking at the Shaftesbury Theatre until 24th October, but it will now finish after a run of nearly two-and-a-half years.

The current London cast includes  Chloe Hart (as Tracy Turnblad), Phill Jupitus (Edna Turnblad), Belinda Carlisle (Velma Von Tussle), Verity Rushworth (Penny), Liam Tamne (Link Larkin), Sharon D Clarke (Motormouth Mabel) and from 2nd  February former Monkee Micky Dolenz  joins as Wilbur Turnblad.

The touring production of Hairspray kicks off at the  Cardiff Millennium Centre on 30th March with Michael Ball reprising his award winning role as Edna Turnblad, alternating at different venues with Brian Conley and Phill Jupitus

Flashdance is rumoured to be the next occupant at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
