Jason Donovan to start OX5 Run

Jason Donovan, who is currently appearing in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, is to start this year’s OX5 Run on Sunday 18th April.

He started the five-mile race around the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock three years ago was delighted to be asked to do the honours again this year. Although he might not take part in the run itself because of his performance schedule:  he is on stage at the Palace Theatre in London’s West End for 2 ½ hours eight times a week

Later this year he is to go on a three month arena tour of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds which kicks off in London on 20th November.

Fundraisers are hoping 1,000 runners will take part this year and raise about £65,000 for new toys and equipment for Oxford Children’s Hospital. Jason lives in Oxfordshire and is a keen supporter of the local hospital visiting children on the wards and performing a concert for the nursing staff.
