Billy Bragg makes theatrical debut with Pressure Drop

Billy Bragg and his band will appear in Pressure Drop at the Wellcome Collection from 19 April to 12 May.  The production is described as part play and part gig with original music and songs by Bragg. It is the museum’s first-ever major theatrical production and Bragg’s theatrical debut.

The drama was written by author and director Mick Gordon and is directed by Christopher Haydon. It tells the story of three generations of a white working-class family living in the outskirts of London and follows their attempts to define their individual and family identities.

There is a company of actors joining Billy Bragg and his band on stage including June Watson, Michael Gould, Justin Salinger, Pip Donaghy, David Kennedy, Susan Vidler and Shea Davis.

The Wellcome Collection is located at 183 Euston Road.  It is a venue which offers contemporary and historic exhibitions and collections, public events, the Wellcome Library, a cafĂ©, a bookshop, conference facilities and a members’ club.
