Casting for Sondheim’s Into the Woods

Hannah Waddingham and Jenna Russell will be appearing at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park  this summer as part of the celebrations for Stephen Sondheim’s 80th birthday.

Both actresses are no stranger to Sondheim musicals with Waddingham appearing in last year’s Menier Chocolate Factory production of A Little Night Music, and Russell won an Olivier for Sunday in the Park with George in the West End and then transferred with the show to Broadway.

Hannah Waddingham  will play the Witch and Jenna Russell will play the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods which runs from 11th August to 11th September (previews from 5th August).

Other company members  confirmed so far include: Marc Antolin, Valda Aviks, Billy Boyle, Gaye Brown, Sophie Caton, Alice Fearn, Mark Goldthorp, Amy Griffiths, Mark Hadfield, Amy Ellen Richardson, Ben Stott and Gemma Wardle.
