Sister Act to Close Early at Palladium

Sister Act has moved forward its closing date at the London Palladium to 30th October, 2010 instead of 1st January 2011 as previously announced.  Hopefully this means that Sheila Hancock and Patina Miller will stay on with new cast member Simon Webbe (who joins on 31st May) until the end of its run.

Sister Act is preparing for a Broadway opening in spring 2011 with a UK tour planned in Autumn 2011 as well as various international productions.

Apparently it was always the deal with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group that the show would leave the Palladium to make way for his production of The Wizard of Oz which is due to open there in March 2011.

No production has been announced to fill the two month gap there now is at the theatre, although there is a rumour that White Christmas which has appeared in the regions several times over the festive season might come in.
