Other casting news is that Canadian Johnny Wright will play Johnny Castle (the part made famous by Patrick Swayze). He has been playing the part in the Toronto production.
Hannah Vassallo will play Baby. She joined Dirty Dancing as a member of the ensemble from Matthew Bourne's dance company New Adventures where she performed principal roles in many of his productions.
She will be understudied by Charlie Bruce (pictured) the very talented young dancer who won Nigel Lythgoe’s BBC reality series “So You Think You Can Dance” earlier this year. This is the 19 year old’s first West End appearance and her primary role is in the ensemble providing a perfect grounding for her to gain some experience of performing on a West End stage.
