Jodie Prenger is currently receiving rave reviews playing the Lady of the Lake in the UK tour of Monty Python’s tour of Spamalot. But she is also scheduled to appear in Candy Cabs which is a new BBC1 comedy drama about a taxi company for women run by two women from the north of England. But their goal to become wealthy entrepreneurs is full of personal obstacles.
The three part comedy series will star Jo Joyner (Tanya Branning from EastEnders) and Lisa Millett. It will also feature Paul Nicholls, Denis Lawson, John Henshaw, Paul Kaye, Claire Sweeney (who is about to tour in Tell Me on a Sunday), Melanie Hill, Tom Goodman-Hill, Daniel Ryan and Ricky Whittle.
The cast begins filming at the end of May.
Candy Cabs is written by Johanne McAndrew and Elliot Hope, whose television credits include Dalziel and Pascoe, Daylight Robbery, Holby City and Footballers Wives
