Tony Christie is to make his West End debut on 5th July when he joins the cast of Bill Kenwright's musical Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre in London.
Christie will play Older Bobby and Phil (Bobby’s father) in the musical that features hits from artists including The Platters, Roy Orbison and Marty Wilde
In 2002 Christie’s 1970’s hit "Show Me the Way to Amarillo" was used in the TV comedy series Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights leading to a rise in his popularity.
But Tony Christie’s career was really resurrected in 2005 when Kay put together a video featuring a host of stars and released the record as a single to raise money for Comic Relief.
