The Railway Children is playing at the old Eurostar Terminal in Waterloo Station and is proving so popular that it extended its booking period on its opening night until 2nd January 2011.
It has a set featuring the old Gentleman’s saloon carriage from the 1970 film of the same name starring Jenny Agutter and Lionel Jeffries.
This show stars Life On Mars’s Marshall Lancaster as railway porter Mr Perks and also features the Stirling Single period steam train from the National Railway Museum where the production was first seen in 2008.
A 1000-seat auditorium has been specially constructed in the station with the audience seated either side of the original railway track and the action taking place on the track and platforms.
