The Most Incredible Thing is a ballet featuring music by the Pet Shop Boys. It will be directed and choreographed by Javier de Frutos (Venezuelan dancer and choreographer best known for his award-winning work in the 2007 revival of Cabaret) and premiere at Sadler's Wells from 22nd to 26th March 2011 (after a week of previews).
Pet Shop Boys (singer Neil Tennant and keyboard player Chris Lowe) have sold over 50 million albums and are the most successful pop duo in British chart history. In 2009 they received an Outstanding Contribution to Music at the Brit Awards.
They were asked to write a ballet score over four years ago by Royal Ballet principal Ivan Putrov who has been involved in workshops for the piece and will lead the company which features a cast of 15 with a 26 piece orchestra.
