Sheridan Smith leaving Legally Blonde

The latest date I have Sheridan Smith’s departure from Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre is 23rd October, which means that negotiations are under way for her predecessor – and she will be a hard act to follow!

The latest name to be mentioned for the part of Elle Woods is Liverpudlian actress Jennifer Ellison (pictured) who is currently touring in Calendar Girls.

Miss Ellison is perhaps best known for playing Emily Shadwick in the TV soap opera Brookside.  Her main musical theatre credits include playing Roxie Hart in Chicago in the West End and on tour and playing Beth in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds arena tour in 2009. She played Meg Giry in the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.
