The Drowsy Chaperone is returning to London making its fringe debut at Upstairs at the Gatehouse in Highgate Village. It previews there from September 23rd, prior to an official opening on September 28th running through to October 31st.
The Drowsy Chaperone pays homage to American musicals of the Jazz Age, examining the effect they have on the fans that follow them.
The musical won 2006 Tony Awards for both Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. It transferred to the Novello Theatre in London’s West End in June 2007 with a cast including Elaine Paige, John Partridge and Summer Strallen but ran for less than two months.
Casting is still to be announced.
