Darius Campbell’s The History of the Big Bands Tour takes the audience on a musical journey through the Big Band and Swing Era including music from Harry James, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Herman and Buddy Rich
The songs of Frank Sinatra are used in the show to support the narrative about the key musicians of the era. His classics are used to link the bands as Sinatra began his career with Harry James before moving on to Tommy Dorsey’s band. Later he recorded with Duke Ellington, Count Basie in Las Vegas and Woody Herman at the Madison Square Gardens.
The next date is at Brighton Theatre Royal on 12th October before it moves on to Wimbledon, Glasgow, Inverness, Darlington, Woking, Manchester, Bromley and Eastbourne where it ends on 4th November
