Jonathan Ansell has recently completed a tour of Whistle Down the Wind for Bill Kenwright. He is now starring in a touring production of Lark Rise to Candleford along with a company of fifteen actors and musicians
The music is by Ashley Hutchings who was the founder of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band. He created the music for the original award-winning National Theatre production is supervising the music for this new revival.
Seen through the eyes of young Laura Timms Lark rise to Candelford follows a day in the life and relationships of the farm workers, craftsmen and gentry of the fictional hamlet of Lark Rise at the end of the nineteenth century. It starts on the first day of harvest where the villagers are celebrating with music, song and dance.
The show is currently at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley and then goes on to visit Blackpool, Brighton, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Mold, Southampton, Richmond, Shrewsbury, Aberdeen and Wolverhampton before it ends at the Festival Theatre in Malvern on 11th December.
