John is teaming up with blonde bombshell Kristina Rihanoff (pictured) and will join contestants including Vince Cable who is dancing with Erin Boag, Fern Britton with Matthew Cutler, June Brown with Vincent Simone and Ronni Ancona with Anton Du Beke.
John said: "I'm ecstatic - I've watched Strictly since the first series. I am looking forward to the challenge as it's so different to any of the dancing I've done in musicals. But more than anything I am so looking forward to the costumes. I can guarantee this - there will be sequins."Producers are hoping to attract high-profile celebrities who were unable to commit to the original series because of the amount of time involved. Stars taking part in the Christmas special will reportedly have to rehearse and film the show within two weeks.

And he certainly deserved to win. Thought he danced really well. Shame he can't do the whole series next year!
