Rebecca the Musical UK Workshops

Rebecca the Musical which is due to replace Flashdance and open at the Shaftesbury Theatre next spring has already held a couple of workshops in the UK.  In fact the producers were originally intending to open the first English production on Broadway in 2012 but it was the London workshops that made them decide that the West End would be a better choice.

The first workshop in May 2009 featured Lisa O'Hare as 'I', Julian Ovenden as Maxim de Winter, Anna Francolini as Mrs Danvers and Susannah Fellows, David Burt and  Jessica Martin in other roles.

In October the second reading starred Sierra Boggess (currently Christine in Love Never Dies) as 'I', Brent Barrett as Maxim de Winter and Pia Douwes as Mrs Danvers.

Maybe they hold some clues to the eventual casting?
