Sheridan Smith wins Ultimate Theatre Star at Cosmo Awards

Sheridan Smith is currently starring in Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre and also filming a new movie entitled Hysteria with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rupert Everett.

But last night she found time in her busy schedule (she does not perform in Legally Blonde on Monday or Tuesday nights) to get glammed up and take her mum the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards at the Banqueting House in Whitehall.

Sheridan Smith picked up the Ultimate Theatre Star Award which was presented by Louise Spence for her role in the West End hit Legally Blonde.

Other award winners included Fearne Cotton, who last year climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief and recently took part in a celebrity trek around Peru with Denise Van Outen for Breast Cancer Care. She was named Ultimate Celebrity Who Made Us Care.

American model Crystal Renn has written an autobiography about her battle with anorexia and becoming a successful plus-size model. She was given the Ultimate Catwalk Queen award.

Christine Bleakley was awarded Ultimate TV Presenter despite ITV Daybreak's flagging ratings.
Doctor Who’s assistant Karen Gillan took home the Ultimate UK TV Actress award.

Very well deserved award for Sheridan Smith- she really is amazing as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, and certainly is a true Theatre Star!

I agree. She devotes a lot of time and effort to her fans and only rarely misses performances of Legally Blonde. Good that she got this recognition last night.
