The show opens at Milton Keynes Theatre on 15th August and currently ends the tour on 10th December with a West End transfer hopefully on the cards.
The 1935 film Top Hat was nominated for four Oscars and is regarded as one of the greatest dance musicals of all time. Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen play Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont which were played in the film by one of the greatest double acts of all time: Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
The musical is set in the truly glamorous Hollywood era with Strallen staying true to the period by performing some fancy footwork at the launch in a pair of skyscraper feather-clad stilettos!
This is the first time Top Hat has been seen on stage and the lavish new production will have a cast of 30 and live band of 15 members playing classic numbers by Irving Berlin.
