Because of the scale of the production ticket prices are very high with box offices hoping that theatregoers will be persuaded to pay top dollar if the rumour that Glee star Matthew Morrison is joining the production is true.
Morrison is probably best known as teacher Will Schuester in the hit Glee TV series, but he originally played Lt Joe Cable in Bartlett Sher’s 2008 of South Pacific on Broadway and other pre-Glee credits include Hairspray as the original Link Larkin, The Light in the Piazza, The Rocky Horror Show and Footloose.
The timing is perfect as Morrison has a debut album released on 9th May plus a UK concert tour which starts on June 6th at Dublin’s O2 Arena then goes on to visit Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Brighton before finishing at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 13th June
