This is a "highlights version" which was recorded in the presence of Stephen Sondheim and is similar to the 1979 Broadway highlights version. Numbers missing include Poor Thing, Green Finch, Pirelli's Miracle Elixir, The Contest, the Judge’s Johanna and ballads Ah Miss after Green Finch, Wigmakers Sequence/The Letter and Beadle's Parlor Songs.
