The South Bank Centre presents BrynFest from 4th-7th July. This is a festival celebrating the bass-baritone Bryn Terfel with four Royal Festival Hall performances of Broadway favourites, opera classics, rock and roll and Welsh choral music.
On 4th July at 7:30 pm at the Royal Festival Hall it is The Golden Age of Broadway with music and songs from Bernstein’s West Side Story, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific and Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate.
The show will be directed by Daniel Evans and presented by Siân Phillips. It will feature Bryn Terfel with West End stars Hannah Waddingham, Julian Ovenden, Clive Rowe and Emma Williams singing numbers including Some Enchanted Evening, A Wonderful Guy, If I Loved you, On The Street Where You Live, Blow, Gabriel, Blow, You’re The Top, You’ll Never Walk Alone , I Could Have Danced All Night , Brush Up Your Shakespeare, The Impossible Dream, This Nearly Was Mine and Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat.
They will be accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera conducted by Gareth Valentine.
