West End and Broadway leading lady Sierra Boggess has had a frustrating year with two Broadway shows she was due to star in (Rebecca and Prince Of Broadway) being postponed for monetary reasons, but she now has some good news and is joining the West End cast of Les Miserables this summer playing the role of Fantine. She will take over from Caroline Sheen who is pregnant and leaving the company on 29th June.
Miss Boggess start date is still to be confirmed. There is big cast change taking place in Les Miserables this weekend with Geronimo Rauch (Jean Valjean), Tam Mutu (Javert), Danielle Hope (Eponine), Samantha Dorsey (Cosette) and Linzi Hateley as Madame Thenardier joining the company and opening at the Queen’s on 18th June.
Miss Boggess must be delighted this job has come up as she spends a lot of time flying between London and New York and can now base herself here for a while with her fiance Tam Mutu who she starred with in Love Never Dies. She was most recently here as a guest of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber to sing to the Queen at the private birthday party he hosted at his estate and also to appear in the Disney Concert (playing Ariel in the Little Mermaid) over the Diamond Jubilee Weekend.
