The first bit of casting has been revealed for the tour of Cats which kicks off at Edinburgh Playhouse next February.

Oliver Savile is currently in Les Miserables at the Queen's Theatre playing the role of Feuilly/1st cover Enjolras, but he leaves in January to take up the role of Rum Tum Tugger.

Previous theatre credits include UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, international tour of Mamma Mia! and he played Peter Tork in Monkee Business the Musical.

Rum Tum Tugger is a really showy part in Cats and is usually portrayed as a feline equivalent of Mick Jagger or Elvis Presley, recognisable by his wild mane. He was originally played in the London cast by Paul Nicholas, Terrence Mann originated the role on Broadway and John Partridge (best known as Christian in EastEnders) was in in the filmed version..
