West End star Hadley Fraser is soon to
start rehearsals for The Pajama Game which he is appearing in at the Minerva
Studio at Chichester Festival Theatre in April.
He will also perform in concert celebrating shows that have transformed
musical theatre alongside 30 students from the Royal Academy of Music musical
theatre course on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night at 8:00 pm on
Friday 5th April.
The Shock of the New will be presented by Ken Bruce and include music from
productions including Les Miserables, Rent and Parade charting the history of
musical theatre by paying tribute to landmark musicals. The concert will begin with Show Boat and move
on to classic shows like Oklahoma!,
My Fair Lady and West Side Story.
All the musicals featured were revolutionary in their day. From Jerome Kern
to Jason Robert Brown, via the likes of Sondheim, Lerner and Loewe, Kander and
Ebb, Boublil and Schonberg and Jonathan Larson.
