Paul Michael Glaser playing Tevye in Tour of Fiddler on the Roof

The new tour of Fiddler on the Roof which opens at the Southampton Mayflower in  September and is being directed by Craig Revel Horwood has Paul Michael Glaser in the lead role playing Tevye which was so famously played in London and on tour by Topol back in 1983.  Zero Mostel originally created the role on Broadway in 1976.

Glaser appeared in the original 1971 film playing student and Bolshevik revolutionary Perchik who falls in love with Tevye’s second daughter.

Glaser is an American actor, writer  and director who is best known for his role as Detective David Starsky (the jumper wearing one with the curly hair) in the TV series Starsky and Hutch which ran from 1975-1979.

He has numerous television credits but his theatre credits include  Butterflies Are Free on Broadway in 1969 and Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre Bromley in 2007.
