West End star Peter Karrie is taking part in a live concert at a Victorian Park in Swansea today from 5:00 pm to 8.30pm. He will be accompanied by the UK
Filmharmonic Orchestra performing a range of well-known film and TV themes including Les
Miserables, James Bond and Indiana Jones .
Cwmdonkin Park made famous by Dylan Thomas is being officially re-opened this weekend after a major £1.39 million refurbishment in time for the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth next year.
It is a free event organised by the Friends of Cwmdonkin Park and Swansea Council which will be held from noon to 8.30pm today. From noon to 5pm, activities will include an Under Milk Wood performance from children at Dylan Thomas Community School, poetry workshops, tennis and magic shows.
There will be four large marquees made up of 20 stalls selling food, drink, art, crafts, clothes and bric-a-brac. Local traders from the Uplands area are among those who will feature.
