Tour of Don Black Songbook From Hackney to Hollywood

The tour of From Hackney to Hollywood is a celebration of the Don Black songbook and his  journey from Hackney to Hollywood marking his 50th anniversary in the business.

With special guest artists Martine McCutcheon , Gary Wilmot and  Ricardo Afonso the show is directed by Maria Friedman (who will also perform) and conducted by Mike Dixon.

Black is one of Britain's most successful and versatile lyricists with a catalogue of songs including a number of James Bond themes:  'Born Free' and  'Diamonds Are Forever' and musicals like 'Sunset Boulevard', 'Billy' and 'Aspects of Love' and Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical Stephen Ward.
His worldwide success has taken him from his roots in Hackney all the way to Hollywood.

The tour starts on 25th March at Wycombe Swan and runs until 8th April ending at Manchester Opera House.  Other venues include the Forum at Malvern, St David's Hall Cardiff, Bournemouth Pavilion, Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Leeds Town Hall and  Liverpool Philharmonic.
