Cats going into Palladium in December

Cats the musical has been on an extensive tour of the UK and Europe which is due to end at Birmingham Hippodrome on 27th September.

Then it's heading back to the West End for a limited 12 week run at the London Palladium previewing in early December following Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance which runs until 25th October and after the Royal Variety Show has been recorded in November.

Ticket prices are good with the highest cost for an adult under £60 and children are half price.

Lord  Lloyd Webber said that the original team from the hit 1981 production will be working on Cats with Trevor Nunn directing, John Napier designing and Gillian Lynne choreographing. He said:  "We wanted to do Cats again ourselves, then the Palladium came up and Trevor fell in love with it. We’re taking the Cats show that’s touring and working on it afresh".

He is rewriting a couple of the songs with Rum Tum Tugger becoming street cat offering a great modern dance opportunity and he never liked  Growltiger’s Last Stand.  He decided to go for the Palladium when he heard Nunn had a six week slot to work on the show, which David Ian will produce with Really Useful Theatres.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 7th July when casting and further details will be announced.
