Kinks' Musical Sunny Afternoon Confirmed for Harold Pinter Theatre in October

It has just been announced that the Sunny Afternoon musical telling the story of the rise of The Kinks is to transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End in October following a sell-out month-long run at the Hampstead Theatre.

Sunny Afternoon recreates the early life of north Londoner Ray Davies and the band he founded with his brother Dave using  Davies’ original songs including Waterloo Sunset, Lola and You Really Got Me..

The producer Sonia Friedman said they would have transferred it earlier but wanted a smaller intimate theatre and none was available.

The principal cast members will star in the West End run including John Dalgleish as Davies and George Maguire as Dave. It will preview from October 4th and open on 28th October with tickets going on general sale on Monday.
