Charity Concert An Evening with Tim Rice and Friends

Sir Tim Rice has announced a charity concert entitled An Evening with Tim Rice and Friends  at the Sage Gateshead on Thursday October 8th at 7:30 pm .   Numbers from The Lion King, Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar to James Bond and beyond will be performed live by performers and artistes including Marti Pellow and Frances Ruffelle plus acclaimed musician Rick Wakeman, accompanied by Royal Northern Sinfonia.

The concert in in aid of  cancer charity Maggie's Newcastle which was built two years ago in the grounds of Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital, offering  free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends

Sir Tim said: “The concert is called ‘An Evening with Tim Rice and Friends’ and that’s just what it is.
“There will be various fine singers who will be singing songs I have written over the decades and I will link them by telling a few stories - some of which I hope will be found amusing - of how they were written and about the shows they were written for.”
