Bill Kenwright is presenting a new production of Jeff Wayne's The War Of The Worlds in London's West End for a limited season at the Dominion Theatre from 8th February (press night 17th February) to 9th April
Jeff Wayne, whose 1970s cult progressive rock score sold more than 15 million copies, making it one of the best-selling musical albums of all time, will conduct the production that will feature some brand new music and an all-star cast, including a 3D holography Liam Neeson as the narrator.
Adapted from HG Wells' legendary novel, The War Of The Worlds tells the story of the invasion of Earth by ruthless, but highly intelligent, Martians who have machinery and weaponry of devastating capabilities and are bent on destroying the human race.
This new stage adaptation, which follows decades of arena tours where fans have gathered to hear the music played live, features the album's script by Doreen Wayne and lyrics by fellow original collaborators Gary Osbourne and Paul Vigrass.
Bob Thomas will direct a cast to be announced performing alongside film star Neeson's futuristic hologram presence, video walls, the iconic Martian Fighting Machine and the promise of many more special effects.
