Frances Ruffelle and David Bedella are to star in Springtime for Henry (and Barbara): A New Show by Gwyneth Herbert and Mel Brimfield at Wilton's Music Hall for just three performances across two nights on 26-27th January,
Composer/performer Gwyneth Herbert (The A-Z of Mrs P) and artist Mel Brimfield present their latest collaboration: a fictitious "lost" musical, reconstructed in fragments, centred around the lives of British sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.
The story played out through musical theatre storytelling; passages of the lost musical are performed by a cast include Frances Ruffelle (Les Miserables, Piaf) as Barbara Hepworth: Andrew C. Wadsworth (Oklahoma, Kiss Me Kate) as Henry Moore: Hugh Ross (Passion, Woman in Black) as The Critic and David Bedella (Jerry Springer The Opera, The Rocky Horror Show) as The Director with Herbert, her band and a 30 piece tap-dancing choir, amidst a collage of spoof arts documentary, recontextualised archive footage and a staged TV chat show.
