Made in Dagenham musical to be revived in the autumn

The musical Made In Dagenham is to be revived for the first time this year with a co-production between the Queen’s Hornchurch and Ipswich’s New Wolsey  directed by the Queen’s artistic director Douglas Rintoul who said that that the show would be a ‘stripped back’ interpretation, cast with an ensemble of actor-musicians. It runs in Hornchurch from 26 August -17 September, before playing the New Wolsey from 21 September-15 October.

Made in Dagenham, starred Gemma Arterton and opened at the Adelphi Theatre in November 2014 closing  in April of the following year. It is based on  the true story of the female Ford factory workers who fought for equal pay in the late 1960s, and based on the 2010 hit film, Made in Dagenham has  a book by Richard Bean, music by David Arnold and lyrics by Richard Thomas. The show will be designed by Hayley Grindle with musical direction by Ben Goddard. Casting details are to be announced.
