Updated 12th October: more casting has been announced for Cameron Mackintosh’s Broadway revival of Alan Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony-winning musical Miss Saigon.
As previously reported, American actors Jon Jon Briones is The Engineer and 20-year-old Eva Noblezada is Kim (both created their roles in the West End to great acclaim), with Rachelle Ann Go (as Gigi) and Devin Ilaw (as Thuy).
Newly announced for the production are Katie Rose Clarke (as Ellen) and Nicholas Christopher (as John).
Clarke was recently seen on Broadway in Allegiance; she also played Glinda in Wicked and Clara in Light in the Piazza, roles she also played in each show’s national tour.
Christopher was featured this summer as George Washington in Hamilton on Broadway.
Miss Saigon opens on 23rd March 2017 at the Broadway Theatre (previews from
1st March) for a limited run until 14th January 2018 when it
embarks on a US tour
It will be directed by Laurence Connor. In addition to this year's Japan production, over the next few years Miss Saigon will open in Germany, Australia and Asia. In addition, tours of Europe, the UK and Middle East are planned.
