Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers Anton du Beke and Joanne Clifton will be special guests at The Golden Age of Dance gala at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Sunday 13th November hosted by former Strictly contestant Russell Grant.
They will join a cast of West End dancers and performers including Lucy Jane Adcock (Chicago, Starlight Express, Guys and Dolls); Marianne
Benedict (Cats, The Wizard of Oz); Darren Bennett (Chitty Chitty Bang
Bang, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels); Matthew Croke (Wicked, Singin’ in the
Rain); Flora Dawson (White Christmas, Singin’ in the Rain); Charlotte
Gooch (Top Hat, Dirty Dancing, Grease); and Genevieve Nicole (The
Producers, Chicago). Accompanied by The Novello Orchestra led by Only Men Aloud’s David
Mahoney, the performances will feature the timeless music of composers
including George and Ira Gershwin.
With choreography by Alan Burkitt (Top Hat, Singin’ in the Rain)
who will also perform, The Golden Age of Dance will celebrate the
artistry of Golden Age stars including Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers,
Gene Kelly and Judy Garland.
