Latest news on new Pinocchio Musical at the National

In today's Mail Baz has revealed that young Welsh actor Joe Idris-Roberts has been cast in the title role of  Pinocchio the Musical by Dennis Kelly with songs and score from the Walt Disney film by Leigh Harline, Ned Washington and Paul J Smith, adapted by Martin Lowe. The world premiere  is being presented by the National Theatre this Christmas in the Lyttelton previwing from 1st December.
He  recently graduated from RADA and experience since then includes playing Spedding in The Philanderer (Orange Tree), Pyrrus in Andromache, Amiens in As You Like It, Vittorio in Sweet Charity, Rifleman David ‘Briggsy’ Briggs in The Space, Master Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor and Nailer in The Castle (RADA), Posner in The History Boys and James in Jesus Christ Superstar (Theatr Clwyd). He is currently appearing in Forty Years On at Chichester and has been playing the energetic marionette is various workshops which the director has been holding.

Public booking at the National opens on Friday 7 July, 8.30am
