Jamael Westman and Ash Hunter will play the titular role in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton musical which opens at the Victoria Palace Theatre on 7yh December, with previews from 21st November 2017.
RADA graduate Jamael Westman will star in the titular role as Alexander Hamilton. Whilst training, his credits included Electra, Troilus and Cressida and The Winter's Tale.The role will also be played by Ash Hunter at certain performances. Hunter starred in Pitcairn at Shakespeare's Globe in 2014, and Light Shining in Buckinghamshire at the National
King George, the role originated by Jonathan Groff on Broadway, will be played by Michael Jibson whose previous theatre credits include Roots (Donmar) and Road Show. In 2004 he was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance as Joe Casey in the Madness musical Our House.They will be joined by the previously announced Rachelle Ann Go (Eliza Schuyler), Giles Terera (Aaron Burr), Rachel John (Angelica Schuyler), Obioma Ugoala (George Washington), Christine Allado (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Jason Pennycooke (Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Cleve September (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton) and Tarinn Callender (Mulligan/Madison).
The ensemble will include Courtney-Mae Briggs (In The Heights), Jack Butterworth (Billy Elliot), Marsha Songcome (Miss Saigon), Jon-Scott Clark (Shrek the Musical), Miriam-Teak Lee (On The Town) and Alexzandra Sarmiento (Strictly Ballroom) with Jade Albertsen, Curtis Angus, Jonathan Bishop, Kelly Downing, Leslie Garcia Bowman, Lia Given, Greg Haney, Leah Hill, Barney Hudson, Waylon Jacobs, Phoebe Liberty, Christopher Tendai and Lindsey Tierney.
