According to today's Mirror, Take That members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen have had meetings with producers about turning their new musical The Band into a Hollywood film.
Gary told the Mirror: “They came to previews of the show the other day. It’s a possibility. We have never been involved in a film before - it would be a first.”
The tour of the Band opened in Manchester on Tuesday after a star-studded press night. It became the fastest-selling musical of recent history when it went on sale in April, chalking up an impressive £15 million in advance sales.
In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Gary, Howard and Mark – who are all executive producers on the musical – said that if the show proved a hit it could also end up on Broadway.Gary said: We never broke America as a band and it would be unthinkable really. This show deserves a big stage. We would love to take it to the West End and then maybe Broadway.
