According to Baz Bamigboye in today's Mail, the Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away is heading for London's West End in 2019 The Phoenix Theatre with an all-British cast. Chicago the Musical is currently booking there until October. Prior to the show's London run, it will play at Dublin's Abbey Theatre from December 2018- January 2019.The official announcement of the show's West End run is set for Canada Day on 2nd July.
COME FROM AWAY is a true story which takes place in the week following the September 11th attacks and is about what happened when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon. The characters in the musical are based on (and in most cases share the names of) real Gander residents as well as some of the 7,000 stranded travellers they housed and fed.
