Steven McRae to play Skimbleshanks in Cats movie

Steven McRae, a principal dancer for the Royal Ballet, will take on the role of Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat in the movie adaptation of Cats.  His previous roles include Magician/Mad Hatter in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Jack in Sweet Violet, Florizel in The Winter's Tale and  most recently in the Royal Ballet's production of Mayerling.

McRae joins fellow Royal Ballet principal Francesca Hayward in the  role of Victoria the white cat, as well as Dame Judi Dench/Old Deuteronomy, ancient leader of the Jellicle tribe, Jennifer Hudson/Grizabella , Idris Elba/Macavity the Mystery Cat, Sir Ian McKellen/gus the theatre cat, James Corden and Taylor Swift.
