Todrick Hall to take over role of Billy Flynn from Duncan James in Chicago

Todrick Hall played a limited engagement as Billy Flynn in the Broadway production of Chicago at the end of 2017, and will now return to the role of the slick lawyer in the London revival at the Phoenix Theatre from 19th November until the end of its run on 5th January,  taking over from Duncan James who leaves the show on  November 17th.

The actor, rose to fame on American Idol, is a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race and has almost 3 million subscribers on YouTube. He has also appeared on Broadway in Kinky Boots,   Hejoins Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton, and Paul Rider as Amos Hart. (Alexandra Burke plays the role of Roxie Hart until November 10th)

Hall has also previously appeared on Broadway in Memphis and in the original production of The Color Purple. His many viral YouTube videos frequently draw on his affinity for musical theatre  featuring  Shoshana Bean, Jay Armstrong Johnson, and Alex Newell (currently on Broadway in Once On This Island).

Hall said: “Chicago has been one of my favorite musicals since I first heard the song ‘Cell Block Tango, which has now been the inspiration for some of my most viral YouTube videos,I'm so excited to tell this story every night and be a part of one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time.
